IDE is an essential part of the development process. Many game developers use VS Code with their game engines, but, how do you set up VS Code properly for Unity Game Engine?
Many people sometimes have issues with VS Code when using Unity. Autocomplete problems, and so many others that I cannot count. Actually, you just need to VS Code, .Net Package, and one extension inside of VS Code, that's all.
Firstly, you must download VS Code from this website. Choose your type of version. (Generally, new computers use x64 so you can download that one.)
After you downloaded VS Code, go to your projects on Unity.
Click Edit -> Prefrences -> External Tools.
Make sure you choose Vs Code on External Script Editor panel, after you choose it, click Reset Argument just to make sure everything is working fine.
You are nearly done with Unity for now, it is time to move Vs Code part.
Material Icon Theme is a cool theme that I've used, so you can check it out that too :)
Click that icon on the left which is highlighted. Search C# and Unity Code Snippets extensions to your VS Code.
After you did them all, restart your computer.
It's actually all you need to use VS Code with Unity, but if something is not working, or you get an error, it's probably because of .Net versions you have. You can try another version of .Net, you can download developer versions of the .Net, or you can search the error code that you see on the Terminal.
